Here at Cumbria Car Storage we have a fully equipped workshop and necessary competences to take care of all your valeting, maintenance, repair, transport and servicing needs.
Transport
In order that you always have your car where you want it, when you want it, we can provide transport to and from storage. With our purpose built covered car transporter we keep your car out of view from prying eyes and protected from rain, road grime and salt.
We can also provide a qualified and experienced driver
to collect or deliver your car for you. Please see the Prices page for transport costs.
Corrosion Protection Service
This consists of a thorough under-body cleaning, followed by removal of any rust and application of new protection together with wax injection as required.
The type and level of rust-proofing and under-body protection varies greatly and will depend on each individual car and its intended use. For this reason we will discuss your needs and tailor an appropriate solution. Please see here for an example of our work and cost.
Servicing
We are able to perform all routine
maintenance and servicing on site, from an oil change to a complete
restoration. If you prefer, we can also transport your car to and from a garage
or workshop of your choice.
Valeting Service
In addition to the wash and clean
your car will enjoy upon arrival, we also offer more comprehensive valeting and
detailing services. These include machine polishing and waxing of paintwork,
leather cleaning and feeding, carpet cleaning, engine bay detailing and much

M.O.T. Testing
We can prepare your car for the
M.O.T. test and take your car for testing. Prior to taking the
vehicle we will perform a basic check of lights, horn, wipers and
underside. Any simple fixes will be carried out (blown bulbs, fuses,
loose cables etc.) as part of the service. We will of course inform
you immediately, if we find any more serious issues.
Inspection Service
We provide a comprehensive car
inspection service. This includes all vehicle systems including
those not covered by an MOT. This inspection covers over 500 checks
and includes (where appropriate) driving the car. A full inspection
report with photographs is provided. This inspection can be useful
before deciding to purchase a car, after purchasing a car (for peace of mind),
before embarking on long distance travel or for evidence of condition (for
selling a vehicle or insurance purposes).
Longer Term Storage Protection
The temperature
and humidity controlled environment, together with battery conditioning and
periodic checks will ensure that your vehicle remains in top condition at all
times. If you plan to leave your car undisturbed for much more than 12 months
it is worth taking a few extra steps to safeguard condition.
We can offer
this service, which includes removal of fuel and batteries, flushing and
refilling of hydraulic fluid, coolant and engine oil, protection of rubber,
alloy, plastic, leather, paintwork and chrome.
Re-commissioning Service
This is included as part of the
service for any vehicles prepared for longer term storage by us. We also offer
a re-commissioning service for any car that has been off the road for a period
of time. This initially comprises a complete inspection service, which will
determine the level of work required, which we will then provide a quote for
and discuss with you before embarking on any further work.
